Dallas is a diverse city, known for arts and music, and inventing the frozen margarita machine (Thanks Mariano), and from the tallest capitol in the country in Austin, to the 55 ft tall cowboy in Dallas known as Big Tex, everything is bigger in Texas. Dallas County is solidly Democratic, and in 2016, performed better for Democrats in both the state and national races than in 2008 and 2012. In east Dallas, we elected one of our own, Victoria Neave, unseating an incumbent republican. Our 2016 program saw youth turnout break records statewide, and we know that the work we will do in Dallas later this summer will pave the groundwork for putting more young democrats in office in 2018.
